Deep cleanup brings common sources of disk clutter into one review screen. It is useful when your disk is nearly full or the computer has accumulated files from many applications.
What MangoDisk looks for
The exact categories depend on your operating system and installed applications. Results can include:
- system and user caches;
- temporary working files;
- browser data that can be recreated;
- files left behind by removed applications;
- development tool caches and build output.
MangoDisk separates these items into categories so you can understand where the space comes from.
Understand the recommendations
Each category shows its size and the number of items found. When MangoDisk can identify a lower-risk option, it marks that item to make review easier.
A recommendation is not a substitute for your decision. Expand a category and inspect anything unfamiliar before selecting it.
Before you clean
Save your work and close applications listed by MangoDisk. An open application may recreate a cache immediately or keep a temporary file in use.
Review the selected total at the bottom of the page, choose the cleanup method, and confirm only when the selection looks correct.
